About Martha
I am a music student at the University of York and achieved a B in A-Level French and a 9 in GCSE French. Additionally, I have completed an Upper Intermediate level module at University. I offer 30 - 60 minute lessons. I particularly enjoy tutoring young persons and have experience leading musical workshops in primary schools as well as teaching the violin and piano. I am highly professional and fun to work with.

I tailor my lessons to each student’s age, level, and goals. Lessons are usually split between grammar, vocabulary, and core skills including reading, writing, listening, and speaking. However, lesson content is fully flexible and can be adjusted to meet individual aims, such as focusing on reading and writing one week and speaking and grammar the next.
For younger beginners, I use stickers, a lesson diary, and practice exercises to keep learning engaging, positive, and fun.
For more advanced students, I place greater emphasis on understanding by using practice questions and past papers. I support students’ aspirations by setting clear goals, highlighting topics that need more development, and helping them progress with confidence.
