About Jonathon
I am a musician/worship keyboardist/recording artist/university student, and I’ve been teaching beginner piano lessons for over 5 years. I am at a level 5 Royal Conservatory level in sight reading and music theory. I have also coached bands and have played in bands for venues up to 500 people. I can teach basic note theory and sight reading, as well as simple chord theory.

My teaching method is hands-on and visual. I help you practice the content repeatedly during lessons, and create a written lesson plan for you during the week. It’s super simple, easy to follow, and lots of fun. If you have a desire to learn basic piano skills, play your favorite songs, or jam with other musicians, I can help you get there.

We can also coordinate an online/in-person blended solution for you. Let me know!
I prefer teaching in 30 min. segments rather than 1 hour segments. Still, I can work with you to find the best solution for your needs.
I also prefer coaching online, and it will be easier to coordinate set lessons times if you choose online. In-person lessons may be re-scheduled more frequently than online lessons.
My style is more contemporary and modern, with some classical influence. Depending on what you want to learn, it may be in your best interest to be prepared to buy a cost efficient book or two. You may not have to though.
