About Jenna
I have an extensive background in English, having graduated from the University of Toronto with a double major in English Literature and International Relations. In addition to undertaking numerous professional and extracurricular roles centered around written and verbal communication, I have privately tutored students in English over the last six years.
In addition to my thorough background in English, I am pursuing a graduate degree in clinical social work at U of T in the fall. I believe my experience in the mental health and social work field only strengthen my ability to connect well with students and assist them in areas where they might be struggling.
My tutoring experience involves conducting one-on-one tutoring sessions for high-school-age students in English with focus on, but not limited to, essay writing, creative writing, literature analysis, critical theory, and grammar fundamentals. Through building rapport with my students, I am able to identify their educational needs and develop tutoring plans that align with curricular objectives.

Understanding that self-esteem is often deeply linked to academic performance, I am determined to use a strength-based approach when working with students. Moreover, I am happy to use instructional technology, learning software, or any other accessibility related methods that suit student needs.
