About Jon
My teaching approach for Guitar focuses on building a solid foundation in technique while nurturing each student’s creativity and individual style. I cover a wide range of topics including improvisation, music theory, composition, rhythm, and ear training, helping students master essential skills for jazz, rock, blues, and classical guitar. Lessons are tailored to each student’s goals, whether it's mastering chords, learning to read sheet music, or developing performance skills.
I emphasize clear communication, ensuring students understand every concept before moving forward. Integrity is central to my teaching; I am fully committed to each student’s progress and invest time in providing feedback and support. Cultural sensitivity is also key in my lessons, as I encourage students to explore diverse musical genres and appreciate the global roots of guitar music.
Through practical exercises, hands-on practice, and interactive learning, I create a comfortable and open space where students feel empowered to ask questions, make mistakes, and grow. My aim is for students to leave each lesson feeling inspired and equipped to achieve their musical goals.

I am an experienced Guitar tutor with over 8 years of teaching students from high school to college. My goal is to help each student find their unique musical voice and grow their skills confidently. With a student base of around 250, I’ve guided many to achieve strong technical abilities, creativity in improvisation, and a deep understanding of music theory. My teaching philosophy centers on creating a positive, motivating environment where students feel encouraged to explore, make mistakes, and improve without pressure. I combine practical exercises with a focus on creativity, ear training, and performance, ensuring students develop a well-rounded skill set.
