About Ira
My teaching approach focuses on combining technical skills with musical expression to help students connect deeply with the piano. I emphasize tone control, phrasing, and emotional touch, ensuring each piece is played with feeling. Alongside performance, I guide students in composition basics, harmonic analysis, and music storytelling, so they understand the music beyond the notes.
For students drawn to jazz, I explore improvisation, rhythm, and harmony to help them develop a unique style. With over seven years of teaching experience and a Bachelor of Music in Collaborative Piano, I am passionate about helping students discover the art of expressive piano playing. I work with students who are passionate about classical repertoire, film music, and artistic growth, tailoring each lesson to their goals and interests.
