About Muqing
Hi, I am Muqing. I am a dedicated and highly analytical educator with a profound passion for mathematics and statistics. My academic journey includes a Bachelor of Statistics, a Master of Bioinformatics, and my current role as a PhD candidate at UNSW, where I work daily with complex quantitative models and data analysis.
Beyond my rigorous academic research, I am deeply committed to the field of education. I am actively advancing my pedagogical skills through a Master of Secondary Teaching, specializing in Mathematics and Science. Teaching Methodology
My teaching approach focuses on breaking down abstract mathematical and statistical concepts into intuitive, real-world applications. Instead of forcing rote memorization, I use a step-by-step problem-solving methodology that builds logical thinking and core data literacy. I adapt my style to each student's unique pace, leveraging clear visual explanations and interactive practice to ensure complex formulas make complete sense.
Lesson Structure
A typical lesson is 1 to 1.5 hours long, which allows sufficient time to review difficult concepts, work through challenging practice problems together, and establish a confident routine for independent study.
Qualifications & Experience
I bring a deep academic background in data and mathematics, holding a Bachelor of Statistics, a Master of Bioinformatics (Advanced), and currently conducting advanced research as a PhD candidate. My experience includes guiding students through rigorous quantitative coursework, transforming intimidating datasets and complex mathematical theories into accessible, clear, and manageable concepts.
