About Erica
Hello,
My name is Erica, I am 23 years old and a current undergraduate student studying Psychology at the University of Southern California. Last year, I completed a Child Development course which lended me an understanding as to the psychological development of a child from birth to adulthood in their cognitive, social, emotional, and physical domains. During high school, I took part in a program which allowed me the opportunity to aid children (ages 5-7) in their reading and writing capabilities. It was through this particular experience in which I became increasingly passionate about the developmental growth of young children, and have learned to pace myself so as to fit the needs of a child. Between March and August 2018, I was a teacher at Nobel Education Institute, which specialized in assisting children with their homework and additional classwork. I was fortunate to have learned what necessitates a professional classroom. I am currently employed with the JEP ReadersPLUS program at USC, which allows me the opportunity to work with children of various grade levels in their mathematics and reading abilities. Over the course of my experience, I have become incredibly gifted in connecting with children in a myriad of capacities, and as a prospective teacher, I plan to continue my path in developing meaningful connections.
As a serious student and overall individual, I put my best foot forward in all that I do. I am very understanding accommodating to fit one's needs, and always appreciate new experiences.
