About Renee
Renee is a graduate of Wayne State University, where she earned a B.S. in Education, with endorsements in Elementary Education and Cognitive Impairments. She earned her Master's Degree in Special Education at the University of Michigan - Dearborn, with an endorsement in Learning Disabilities. Renee has over 30 years of experience teaching Special Education as an elementary, middle school, and high school Resource Room teacher, Self-Contained Teacher, and Transition Coordinator. Renee is also the author of A Parent’s Guide to Supporting Children in Learning at Home. Renee is a certified Instructional Consultation Teams Facilitator, certified Peers Making Peace Facilitator, certified Explicit Instruction Trainer, and is certified in The Psychology of Well-Being from Yale University.

Do you want to learn how to read and spell difficult words effortlessly?
In a fun and engaging format, I will explicitly teach you all of the prefixes and suffixes, along with their meanings, all of the vowel combinations, and a strategy for decoding and encoding words. Vocabulary and fluency strategies are embedded into my lessons and instruction is designed to build automaticity and mastery of the basics of decoding and encoding multi-syllabic words. If you take this opportunity seriously by participating fully and doing the at-home activities, by the end of this course, you will be reading and writing faster and smoother than you ever imagined possible in just 20 weeks.
