About Elara
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Music with a concentration in violin performance and have been teaching for over six years in both individual and group settings. My background includes classical training, ensemble experience, and participation in masterclasses, which has enriched my teaching with a broad perspective on technique and musicality. My approach is flexible yet methodical, combining traditional foundations with personalized instruction. I understand that every student learns differently, so I adapt each lesson to match your learning pace, interests, and challenges. Whether you prefer method books or expressive performance pieces, I ensure the learning experience feels both structured and creative. Lessons are tailored to your individual progress and goals, whether you're starting from scratch or have some experience on the violin. We begin with the fundamentals: posture, how to hold the bow and violin properly, and playing your first open strings and simple melodies. Early focus is placed on developing a clean tone, basic rhythm, and note reading in a structured and supportive way.
As students advance, the lessons evolve into more technical territory. We work on scales, shifting positions, vibrato development, and more complex bowing patterns. Repertoire is selected based on your interests and skill level—from classical etudes and concert pieces to folk or modern arrangements—to keep motivation high and learning diverse. Technique is always reinforced through music, not just isolated exercises.
In every session, I emphasize musicality, expression, and efficient practice habits. Students receive weekly guidance on how to structure home practice and get feedback that builds clarity and confidence. Whether you’re preparing for exams, auditions, or simply playing for joy, lessons are designed to nurture both technical precision and artistic growth.
