About Thea
I have 5 years of experience teaching violin and hold a PhD in Violin Pedagogy. During my teaching career, I have worked with students seeking stronger technique, better performance skills, and greater confidence in their playing. Supporting musical growth is something I find deeply rewarding.
My teaching approach focuses on patience, attention to detail, and individual progress. I believe every student deserves lessons that respect their learning pace while encouraging continuous improvement. Building confidence is a key part of my teaching philosophy.
Outside the classroom, I enjoy chamber music, score study, and exploring different performance traditions. These interests help me stay inspired and bring fresh ideas into lessons. I am passionate about helping students develop both technical ability and a lifelong love for music.

My violin lessons are designed to help students build strong fundamentals while enjoying the process of learning music. We focus on posture, bow control, intonation, tone quality, rhythm accuracy, and musical phrasing through supportive and structured instruction. Every lesson encourages steady improvement and growing confidence.
I use scales, bowing exercises, listening activities, repertoire study, and technique-building exercises to create balanced lessons. Students receive clear guidance and personalized support based on their experience level and goals. Learning remains engaging while developing important musical skills.
I enjoy helping learners become more comfortable and expressive on the violin. Through consistent encouragement and practical instruction, students gain confidence in both practice and performance. My goal is to create a learning experience that feels encouraging, productive, and enjoyable.
