About Elora
I am a violin tutor with over 10 years of teaching experience and a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance. My classical training forms the strong foundation of my teaching, helping students develop precise technique and a deep understanding of music. I focus on essential skills like bowing technique, vibrato, phrasing, and interpretation. These skills are vital for bringing music to life, whether you’re playing Classical masterpieces, exploring Contemporary works, or diving into Cinematic styles. I have extensive experience preparing students for ABRSM and Trinity exams, guiding them through each grade with confidence. Additionally, I offer orchestral coaching, helping students build ensemble skills and musicianship. My lessons balance tradition with modern expression, encouraging students to honor classical roots while embracing creativity. I believe the violin is a versatile instrument that can express a wide range of emotions and styles. My teaching approach focuses on building a strong foundation in violin through careful attention to bowing control, intonation, tone development, musical expression, and proper posture. These elements are essential for producing beautiful sound and playing with confidence.
I believe every student learns differently, so I tailor lessons to suit individual needs and goals. We start with basics and gradually move to more complex techniques, ensuring steady progress. I emphasize correct posture early on to prevent strain and help you play comfortably for longer.
Bowing exercises are a key part of my lessons because they shape your tone and control. We work on listening closely to pitch and developing your ear for perfect intonation. Musical expression is also important—I encourage students to feel and tell the story behind every piece.
I support those involved in group singing or choir activities, helping them improve their understanding of music and how the violin complements vocal performances. Whether you want to play solo or collaborate with others, I help you excel in every musical setting.
My goal is to make learning violin enjoyable and rewarding. Together, we build skills and confidence that last a lifetime.
