About Lydia
I am a qualified Greek teacher from Sydney University, grew up with Greek language, culture and cuisine. In having spent overall two years in Greece I present with very good insight into Greeks in Greece, as in Australia. I have been teaching Greek for more than fifteen years. My main method is interactive learning I adapt from BBC language programs. Others are based on being creative in lesson preparation and delivery aligned with my cultural, educational background and experience.

My method is interactive learning which is adapted from BBC language programs.
Other methods are:
Developing interactive games children respond to in language acquisition
Song
Drama, where relevant and real-life themes are applied so children identify with these
The Greek alphabet with games so they are mastered in sequence, then formation of letters as some vary to the English
I don't usually compare the English to the Greek so students understand the unique quality of both
With adults as well, I avoid translation so they conceptualise new points to communicate naturally in Greek
Topics are based on student choice, interest and educational needs
Lessons are designed for individual tutoring, this method allowing for that
I approach topics according to student preference which could be:
Understanding/Speaking/ Reading/Writing all virtually in sequence, with a strong focus on speaking
For those embarking on visiting Greece, it's informal, such as:
Ordering drinks, meals
Requesting a room, guidance on type of accommodation available, with variation of that in Greece too
Nightlife
Sights worth seeing
Tours in Greece are relatively inexpensive to attract tourists
