About Yiyun
Hello! My name is Irina, and I am a native Mandarin speaker currently based in Melbourne. I graduated from Monash University with a Master of Teaching and I am also a VIT registered early childhood educator. I have experience working with children in Australian kindergartens and enjoy creating a warm, supportive and engaging learning environment for every student.
I am passionate about helping students build confidence in speaking and understanding Chinese through enjoyable and personalized lessons. Whether you are a complete beginner, a parent looking for Chinese lessons for your child, or someone wanting to improve conversational Mandarin, I will adapt lessons to suit your goals and learning style. I believe language learning should feel encouraging, interactive and practical.

Mandarin
I create personalised Mandarin lessons based on each student’s age, level and learning goals. My teaching focuses on conversational Chinese, pronunciation, vocabulary building and confidence through interactive activities, games and real-life communication. Lessons are usually 45–60 minutes and suitable for children, beginners and adult learners. I am a Monash University Master of Teaching graduate, a VIT registered early childhood educator and a native Mandarin speaker with experience working in Australian kindergartens.
