About Alison
I am a proud Scottish Mezzo Soprano, living in the West Midlands after graduating from, The Royal Birmingham Conservatoire.
Growing up, I started dancing from a young age and began getting involved in my school choirs and an after school community choir. This was the beginning of classical and choral singing journey. I auditioned each year for NGC (National Girls Choir) when I was of the right age, then as a became older, I auditioned for NYCoS (National Youth Choir of Scotland).
During my time with NYCoS, I had the most fantastic experiences going on tour to America, Chicago to perform on Independence Day, New York with the phenomenal conductor, Sir John Eliot Gardener, and I even performed twice at the BBC Proms with my choir in London's famous, Royal Albert hall.
Along side my love for classical singing, I was also a part of Musical Theatre companies where we performed Fame, Jesus Christ Superstar, Kiss Me Kate and many more!
I adore singing, dancing and acting. From as young as I can remember, I knew my life was meant to be in the Performing Arts Industry.
Still to this day, I play and sing at different gigs, shows etc, and I love being able to teach along side it. I am proof you can do both and I would love to share all my experiences, knowledge and tips for your future if you wish to learn music, and even take the same career path as me.

Whether you're in primary school, university wishing to do performance exams, or retired looking to pursue a hobby you enjoy... I have the skills and qualification to teach any age.
IT IS NEVER TOO LATE!!!
I am DBS checked, and have experience with ABRSM, Trinity and LCM exams. So far I have 5 years of teaching experience, and over 10 years of performance experience.
My sessions range between 30-60 minutes. I am patient, flexible and can adapt to different music choices.
Genres such as Classical, Opera, Musical Theatre, Rock, Punk, Jazz, Contemporary, Folk and Heavy Metal are some that I already work/have worked on with my students.
You are in total control of your lessons with me, bring which ever song/tune/genre speaks to you, try new things and I'll guide you along this epic journey! Come prepared, ready to go and I'll have lots of different techniques, exercises and sneaky tips for you to learn and implement into other music pieces.

Details
I do charge travel rates if you wish for me to come to your home and teach. However, there are no added charges if you choose to travel to my place for lessons. Only my hourly rate of £35 (or 30mins for £18)
