Since I'm 12 and you're good at helping the "little kids" (like preschoolers or kindergartners), my approach is all about being a "Reading Buddy" and a "Math Coach." My goal is to make learning feel like playing, while still making sure they actually get the hang of their letters and numbers.
My Teaching Method & Techniques
The "I Do, We Do, You Do" Model: I show them how to do it first (I Do), then we do it together (We Do), and finally, they try it while I just watch and cheer (You Do).
Hands-On Learning: Little kids get bored fast, so I use stuff they can touch—like magnatiles for building letters or cereal/blocks for counting.
Game-ifying Everything: We turn phonics into a game of "I Spy" for sounds or use a flyswatter for "Letter Swat" to make it active.
Wait-Time: When they’re struggling to remember a number or sound, I count to five in my head before helping. This gives their brain a second to find the answer on its own.
