About Sam
I'm a certified wetland scientist, which means I have real-world experience not just in biology as a whole, but also in botany, geology, ecology, and many other fields of study - I'm a jack of all trades! I graduated with a B.A. in Environmental Biology, so not only do I know stuff, but I know how to communicate it. I've completed over 200 credit hours of courses in everything from microbiology to soil science, and as a practicing scientist, I know how to problem solve - If we run into a problem or concept that's super difficult, we'll figure it out together.

I like to tutor in a way that is conversational and personal, and I focus on people, not just concepts. What sets me apart is my background as an environmental scientist with field certifications, which allows me to bring real-life science experience into the lesson. I work best with high school and early college students in biology, ecology, and environmental science who want clear, practical guidance and a tutor who explains things in a way that sticks.
