About Nicole
Hello, my name is Nicole! I am 26 years old and live in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. I am half Malaysian Chinese and half American. I am conversant in English, Mandarin, Cantonese, and Bahasa Malaysia. I started tutoring kids at the age of 17 while I was studying overseas in Melbourne. My first job was at Smart Readers in Boxhill, Melbourne. Since then, I have continued teaching students privately. I am most happy when my students show improvements in their pronunciation, reading, and writing skills under me. I also focus on helping them build confidence in their own learning abilities. I encourage students to treat me as their friend and to voice any questions they may have regarding the English language. This way, I will be able to adjust the syllabus to cover their knowledge gap. This will also teach the students how to be vocal, which is a huge step forward in helping to develop character. Rest assured, I will be there for my students, guiding them every step of the way!

I start my lesson with a free trial class for my students as an icebreaker. This also allows me to understand which areas my student needs help in, whether it's pronunciation, reading, or writing. Every student learns differently. I will curate a specific program for each unique individual to help them develop their English skills. My lessons usually take place online (30 mins-1 hour) or face-to-face (1 hour) at my home in Ara Damansara. My goal for each lesson is to ensure the student is able to grasp the new knowledge acquired. I always try to make the lesson fun for the students and speak to them as I would a peer. I have been teaching English face-to-face to students who live around my neighborhood. I have also taught over 100 students online, some coming from countries such as China and Vietnam. I currently take in students between the ages of 4-12 years old.
