About Mariyam
I thoroughly enjoy Maths and Economics as I love the challenge of making complex problems natural and intuitive for myself, and love doing this for my students too! - Whereas I am drawn to Sociology and Psychology as I find the theories, studies and real-world applications fascinating. My interests include makeup, spending time with my little brother, and nature!

I make my teaching creative to keep students interested and engaged, and regularly quiz and test to ensure knowledge is not only being learnt, but retained. I personalise my teaching according to the students' abilities, as I have eclectic academic interests, I know what can help different people understand different concepts. I use Miro whiteboard - to which my students and I enjoy enhanced access as part of a subscription I take on the costs for - as I've found it helps aid students' learning a lot. Usually, the first lesson will involve identifying goals & gaps, then move onwards to fix these, prioritising the ones that I know will affect the overall exam mark the most - this can be surprising, as sometimes it can be structure instead of content, which most students can overlook, heavily impacting their grade and progress! I also set and mark homework and past papers.
