About Lisa
I'm Lisa, and one of the first things you should know about me as a person is that I'm from the suburbs of Atlanta, Georgia. I left Georgia to go to college in Missouri, after which I left to New York after I graduated college. I don't shy away from challenges and tend to take them in stride. I'm constantly shooting to put myself out of my comfort zone in order to grow more every day. My hobbies and other non-academic skills include playing the piano, riding on my longboard back in Atlanta, and crocheting to satisfy my desire for arts and crafts.

After experiencing multiple settings from teaching in inner-city schools to tutoring private school students, I believe I have a very patient approach to the way I teach. My philosophy is that every student has the capabilities to succeed, but the criteria required for success can be vastly different from person to person.
As example to that, I'm flexible in my lesson plans. Based on the needs of the student, I can be a reliable resource for structure and aid, or I can be an active lecturer. My teaching license for NewYork City is specific to the grades 6-9 where I am the most comfortable in communicating with such students, however, I am open to students of all different levels.
