About Rachel
Hi there, My name is Rachel, I am an Environmental Engineering student at the University of Waterloo, looking to tutor you or your student. I have over 6 years of experience tutoring students from elementary to first-year university level Math, English, and Science. I am passionate about teaching and learning and I want to ensure that your tutoring experience is helpful to you/your student as well as enjoyable because tutoring doesn't have to be a chore, it can be fun too! I believe students should have a say in what and how they learn and so I make sure that the student's voice is heard throughout the learning process. I love math, specifically Calculus and Statistics, but I am also passionate about the outdoors and music. I look forward to teaching you/your student in the near future!

I evaluate learning level with diagnostic tests and discussions, then collaborate with students, and their teachers/parents to develop learning goals and a lesson plan within a time-bound period. I will teach lessons, work with the student on work assigned from school, and assign additional practice. At the end of the time period that we set to achieve certain learning goals, I will give an evaluation test/assignment to the student so that they can independently demonstrate their learning.
