About Maxim
I’m a student who’s had a wide range of interests at school.
I’ve played jazz
Been selected into the NZSS Development Brass Band as principal trombone.
I’ve competed for New Zealand at the u19 rowing world champs in Paris
I’m headed to Stanford next year to study mathematics and computer science as a college athlete.
I’m extremely passionate about mathematics and english. I love problem solving (especially with trig proofs and calculus), and I love literature and creative writing.
I aspire to be a teacher in the future as I think there is nothing more fulfilling that helping people pursue knowledge.

I’ve had a few excellent tutors during my time at highschool, and I’m my long term goal is to be a high school maths teacher. What was most most effective for me for was when I was guided to through problems and allowed to find my own way to the answers rather than having the solutions simply explained to me. There is something immensely satisfying about figuring stuff out yourself and chasing that feeling is what I believe will lead to genuine learning and success at school.
