About Christal
As a major in STEM, there is a frequent misconception that people in science are "prodigies" or "geniuses" rather than acknowledging that STEM majors have a level of work ethic and strategy that cannot be copied by those in other professions. My background shows a rough journey of having to get my high-school equivalency, having an embarrassingly low GPA my first semester to then excel in the proceeding semesters of college. While I am not a professor that been in the education field for 10+ years, I'm a student that learned from failures and successes, adapted to the demands of college, and applied strategies that proved to be effective at getting good grades.

College is costly and expensive. In most cases, people who are struggling in a course and don't get the help they need from a tutor or professor's office hours have a higher likelihood of failing and therefore having to retake a course. This can lead to a loss in financial aid, having to pay out of pocket, and take longer to complete college than expected. On the flipside, people who use a tutor have a higher GPA (on average), have higher grades, and are more likely to get scholarships and grants. As a student who went from failing in my classes, to getting A+ scores on tests and exams I'm here to help people get the grades they need to excel in college and not struggle on this education journey alone. My teaching method is worked examples and practice problems to train learners on how to think and evaluate questions on assessments.
My lesson plans have a crash course guide into the fundamentals of a subject, worked flashcard examples, and practice quizzes/exams with answer keys to enhance comprehension.
