About Richard
I am a professional abstract painter and art investment consultant living in Notting Hill West London. I studied at the best art schools in America.Although I paint and am involved in the business side of the art world I have been teaching oil painting,drawing and digital multimedia studies privately to carefully selected students for over 15 years .I work with semi professional artists as well as adolescents and children to help them achieve their technical and creative goals. My instruction style is more like an art coach and less like a watch me and copy that " teacher."I was a secondary multi media art teacher at a private school for three years and in that experience I learned that teaching art should be student focused not teacher focused.I also believe that a lot of art instruction is out dated and not very relevant to real world problems because it was developed before the Internet age. Photography, Video, and Web Design are now real world skills every student can use to survive in a globalized digital economy.
