About Nelmyr Son
My passion for teaching Mathematics started when I was in high school and continued throughout college. I’ve always enjoyed helping others understand Math, especially when they initially found it difficult or intimidating.
After graduating with a BS in Mathematics with Computer Studies, I built a career in IT and have worked in the field for more than 9 years. My IT experience has strengthened my problem-solving, analytical, communication, and critical-thinking skills—skills that I also bring into my Math lessons.
Even while working in IT, my love for teaching never disappeared. I especially enjoy teaching kids, because I believe learning should not feel like a burden. Children should have a safe and encouraging environment where they can ask questions, make mistakes, discover new things, and enjoy learning.
My goal is not only to teach Math, but to help children build confidence, develop problem-solving skills, and believe in themselves. I also want to encourage them to enjoy life, stay curious, and appreciate learning beyond the classroom.
I believe every child learns differently. Sometimes, all they need is a little patience, encouragement, and someone who believes they can do it.

My lessons can cover:
Basic Mathematics – addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, percentages, word problems, and other essential skills.
Algebra – expressions, equations, inequalities, functions, factoring, and problem-solving.
Geometry – shapes, angles, perimeter, area, volume, theorems, and geometric problem-solving.
Trigonometry – right triangles, angles, sine, cosine, tangent, and practical applications.
My approach to teaching kids:
I believe children learn Math best when they understand the concept behind the numbers, rather than simply memorizing formulas. I use simple explanations, examples, guided practice, and real-life situations to help students build confidence.
For younger students, I focus on developing a strong mathematical foundation and making lessons engaging and interactive. For older students, I focus on strengthening their problem-solving skills, understanding difficult concepts, and preparing them for school exams and advanced Mathematics.
️ My goal is to help students see that Math is not something to be afraid of—it is a skill that anyone can learn with patience, practice, and the right guidance.
