About Lila
Hello! I’m a violin tutor with over 5 years of experience and a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance with a concentration in Contemporary Repertoire. I specialize in helping students grow not just as violinists, but as expressive artists in ensemble and orchestral settings. My teaching blends traditional technique with modern approaches. We’ll work on bowing, vibrato, phrasing, and interpretation with a clear focus on Classical, Contemporary, and Cinematic styles. Whether you’re preparing for excerpts, auditions, or ensemble work, I’ll give you the tools to succeed. I also have experience guiding students through ABRSM and Trinity violin exams, offering careful preparation and targeted feedback. As an orchestral coach, I know how important it is to listen, blend, and bring music to life in a group. Lessons are personalized, interactive, and built on a strong foundation of support. My violin teaching method is rooted in a belief that theory and technique should grow together. I teach students to see and hear intervals, scales, and chords on the violin itself. This way, theory becomes a tool—not a separate subject.
I work well with choir members and theatre students who want to be more confident on stage or in the pit. Understanding harmony, rhythm, and musical form helps you blend, lead, and adapt in any musical setting. It also improves your intonation, bow control, and phrasing.
Lessons include technique, sight-reading, theory, and listening skills. For exam-focused learners, I offer detailed planning and practical feedback. I guide students step-by-step toward their performance goals, combining musical insight with technical growth.
You’ll gain the skills to not just play what’s written—but to understand why it works. That’s the key to true musical fluency.
