About Ava
My eight years as a guitar instructor have underscored the importance of recognizing and nurturing each student's individual path. My lessons are designed to be a direct reflection of your current skill level and the musical styles that fuel your passion. Whether you're building your foundation with basic chord progressions, developing the finesse of fingerpicking, or challenging yourself with advanced solo techniques, I adapt the rhythm and focus of our sessions to ensure consistent advancement, respecting your unique learning tempo and preferences. Music theory is integrated seamlessly with practical application, empowering you to read music and understand the underlying structures in a way that directly enhances your playing. My eight years as a guitar instructor have provided me with a wealth of experience in guiding over 300 students towards their musical goals. My approach is highly individualized, recognizing that each student has their own learning style, pace, and musical preferences. I believe in establishing a strong technical foundation, covering essential skills such as chord changes, scales, and rhythmic accuracy. However, I also prioritize making learning enjoyable and relevant by incorporating the music that my students are passionate about.
Whether a student is drawn to the intricate fingerpicking of folk music, the powerful riffs of rock, or the improvisational freedom of jazz, I tailor my lessons to explore those areas. I also emphasize the development of a strong musical ear, incorporating ear training exercises to enhance their ability to understand and play music by ear. My greatest satisfaction comes from seeing my students grow in confidence and skill as they discover the joy of playing the guitar.
