About Will
Hi! I'm Will, a recent graduate from Newcastle University. Whilst studying there I realised the importance of a balance between what I wanted to do with my spare time and my studies, this allowed me to carry on with things which I enjoy such as playing games on my Xbox, going to the gym, and watching football. Getting this balance right was really important to me as it allowed me to enjoy my degree that much more. Through tutoring I want to provide students this balance, and the enjoyment of their studies. I pride myself with being patient and approachable in every lesson, allowing students to feel comfortable in asking questions and learning what matters to them, thus building confidence for a variety of subjects. My tutoring approach is student-centred and adaptable, focused on making complex concepts clear and engaging. I use a combination of explaining theory, practical examples, and interactive problem-solving to help students build confidence and mastery. I encourage questions and tailor lessons to individual learning styles, ensuring concepts are understood deeply rather than memorised. Typically, lessons last 60 minutes, providing enough time to cover material thoroughly while maintaining focus and energy. Sessions can be adjusted to 30 or 90 minutes based on student needs. I hold an MEng Honours degree in Sustainable Chemical Engineering from Newcastle University, with hands-on experience in labs, process design, and research projects. While new to professional tutoring, my academic background and group leadership roles have equipped me with strong communication and teaching skills. My lessons are designed for students studying for GCSE and A-level, covering chemistry, engineering, and mathematics.
