About Riley
I am a sophomore at Indiana University. I am a pre-medical student who is looking to pursue a career in pathology. By being a pre-medical student I have always strived to be the best in all my school subjects. This means I understand the hard work it truly takes to understand a concept or subject. The idea of never giving up but still knowing when breaks need to happen. My teaching philosophy is similar to my own learning, which is that nothing can be achieved without a plan, hard work, and understanding. As students it is important to give yourself grace when it comes to learning. This is because expecting perfection without a plan and work is simply wishing. You also have to be understanding of yourself as a person and what you need.

My teaching methods will include figuring out how you learn and understand and adapt from there. In my opinion no one student learns the same, so no one subject should be taught/explained in the same manner. During a lesson I will start out by going over any homework or question you have, and then dive deeper into those topics. This could include extra practice examples or full breakdowns of a concept. Math is a difficult subject that needs to be understood from step 1, and that is what a lesson would look like from me. These lessons are preferred for middle school and early high school math/science classes. This goes up to precalculus and freshman biology. However, I am open to discussion and can help with more advanced work.
