About Nova
Hi, I’m a singing tutor with over 6 years of experience and a Bachelor of Arts in Music, with a voice emphasis. I provide personalised lessons for students of all levels, from school and college learners to adult and professional singers. My teaching covers classical, pop, movie, and folk singing, tailored to each student’s goals and interests. I focus on ear training, harmony, improvisation, and music theory to help students develop a well-rounded musical foundation. Vocal confidence is central to my approach, and I emphasise safe, healthy techniques to ensure longevity in singing. My teaching methodology focuses on helping singers master multiple genres, from classical to pop and jazz. For ensemble-focused singers, I emphasise blending, harmonising, and dynamic expression to shine in group performances. For crossover artists, I focus on versatility, helping them transition smoothly between genres without straining the voice. Breath control, articulation, and tone quality are reinforced in every session. I integrate modern tech tools like DAWs, metronomes, and pitch training apps to track progress and enhance practice sessions. These tools help students visualise improvement and maintain consistent growth. Improvisation, interpretation, and emotional connection to the music are also central to my teaching. I encourage regular performance practice, whether live or recorded, to build confidence. My goal is for students to not only master technique but to express themselves fully and adapt to any musical challenge.
