About Sven
With 7 years of chess coaching experience, my approach balances technical instruction with practical, real-time application. I’ve worked with learners ranging from casual enthusiasts to competitive players, helping each one refine their style, strengthen weaknesses, and understand the game more deeply. My own training includes years of club play, regional competitions, and advanced strategy studies. I believe chess is both a science and an art—requiring discipline, imagination, and problem-solving. My lessons reflect this by combining structured drills with game-based learning and discussion. I teach students not only how to play strong moves, but why each move matters within the broader flow of the game. I focus on helping players recognise patterns, manage their mindset, and improve both short- and long-term planning. Above all, I aim to foster independent thinkers—players who can learn from their losses, analyse critically, and adapt with intelligence. My style is encouraging but honest, structured but fun. I provide clear goals and progression paths, ensuring every student builds skills that are not only effective at the board but also transferable to real-life decision-making and focus.
