About Sara
Hello! My name is Sara. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Graphic Design, and nearly 10 years of design experience. Along the way, I have developed many other creative skills, such as design consulting and creative direction. Design is a huge form of communication, therefore I believe it is crucial to not only learn how to use the software (Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign..) but also (and primarily) getting comfortable with the guidelines that will allow you to better understand the meaning of it all, and begin creating!

I would describe my style of teaching as detail-oriented, with a focus on understanding. It is important to me that the student actually understands what we are working on. I am aware that every person learns differently, therefore, I like to work with each student and come up with the best approach for that person specifically.
I like to first and foremost make sure the student thoroughly understands the principles and elements of design. To me, that is the number one thing to being a strong graphic designer. Once the student is comfortable with the "rules" of design, if you will, they will be able to appropriately and intentionally apply what they've learned to any and every design they ever create.

Sara is very dedicated to design and will help flush out ideas, teach different design techniques, and produce an awesome final product! She is very patient with beginners and very thorough for advanced students! Sara helped me throughout an entire semester design course and I couldn’t have done it without her.
