May Yu helped me start my violin journey. She truly built me from the ground up, not only did she help foster a beautiful learning environment but she also inspired me and cultivated my love for music. I’ve been taking lessons with May for about three years now and my lessons with her are still the highlight of my week, I can comfortably say that from the moment the lesson ends I’m thinking about our next session the following week. May always finds new and unique ways of explaining things and never gives up when you’re having trouble, she truly has the patience of a saint.

I've been learning violin with May for the last year and half. She makes me comfortable and supported during lessons. Playing violin is such a tough cookie to crack and May knows how to make things much more digestible step by step. One of my favorite things we do is some call and response improvising, it really helps me listen and have fun
