About Kevell
Hello, I’m Kevell - a dedicated Mathematics and Physical Sciences tutor with over 5 years of experience helping high school students improve their marks and build real academic confidence. I hold an Honors degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand, where I graduated in the top 15% of my class with a strong academic record. My background in engineering has equipped me with disciplined problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to break down complex concepts into simple, logical steps.
I take my responsibility as a tutor seriously. I am professional, punctual, well-prepared, and fully committed to each student’s progress. I understand that every learner is different, which is why I adapt my teaching style to suit the student’s pace and learning needs while still maintaining high standards. My goal is not just improvement, but excellence — I aim to guide my students toward achieving 80% and above through consistent practice, structured lessons, and focused exam preparation.

My teaching methodology is built on three pillars: concept mastery, deliberate practice, and exam strategy. I believe students struggle not because they are incapable, but because they haven’t been taught how to think through problems properly. I break down complex topics into simple, logical steps and ensure students truly understand the “why” behind every concept before moving on. Once the foundation is solid, we reinforce learning through intensive practice — especially past exam papers and practical examples — because exposure and repetition build confidence and speed.
I am extremely patient and create a calm, supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions without fear of judgment. My goal is not just improvement, but excellence — I push my students toward achieving 80% and above by setting high standards, tracking progress, and continuously refining weak areas.
