About Jay
I love teaching, but my four years working as a full-time project-based learning teacher forced me to relegate my NatGeo Explorer work to nights and the summer break. I'm here to strike a new balance: where I can actively develop my project work AND teach part-time.
Also, when I was a student, I struggled when I didn't see the application of what I was learning. I wasn't bored, I was too excited to dive deep into the other activities that stoked my passions. I want to help others structure their own learning to see this style of learning as a strength, not a weakness.

The first website I made was in the 90s with only HTML. And while a lot has changed since then, I've worked as a freelance website designer since 2007 and kept up with many current trends for building and maintaining websites for clients (great hourly freelance work!) and my professional projects.
