About Andrew
Prior to my lecturing and teaching career in Perth, I worked as a Broadcast Designer in Australia and overseas in the film and television industry. During this time I acquired a broad range of traditional and digital competencies in the fields of graphic design, animation and digital media design. I have a comprehensive cv/resume, which includes my work as an Art Director, Graphic Designer, Writer and Producer, Animator, Storyboard Artist, Broadcast Designer, Motion Graphics designer, lecturer and teacher.
As part of my instructional practice as I am constantly reflecting on strategies to encourage students to explore and become actively engaged in the learning process and taking more responsibility for their own learning. Not only through practice but also by creating an environment that promotes intellectual curiosity though inquiry, writing, reading and collaboration. I have a lifelong appreciation for the arts, I believe in explaining and making real life connections for students in exploring the arts by scaffolding content and engaging students with a balance of inquiry, practice and reflection.
