About Max
I have been playing drums since I was 9 years old and since then have gone on to play in multiple bands, tour around the USA and record albums. I initially came into drumming from an interest in rock, metal and punk but have gone on to develop my skills to encompass jazz and Latin music.

My teaching method depends on the student's needs but for the most part I will structure lessons around three main areas. Rudiments and basic skills: Each lesson I will encourage students to go through the basic techniques that are the ground blocks for any good drummer to build speed, accuracy and versatility. Songs: I think it is extremely valuable for students to play along to music they enjoy and to learn from the drummers they admire. This is also a great way to practise timing and to simulate the live experience. Advanced exercises: Depending on the student's desired learning path (be it into jazz or progressive metal), I will provide drum exercises built around learning particular challenging grooves and patterns, in order to expand the student's arsenal of beats.
