About Brent
I am a writer with significant additional experience in technical subjects and finance available to help students with SAT prep, college essays and improving their essay/term paper writing skills. I have helped a dozen students in the last year. Because of my technical and financial background, I'm particularly good at helping students who are focused on those subject areas and are not natural born writers.

I start by interviewing the student in depth to understand their self-image and feelings about writing, as well as attempting to understand the source of their practical struggles. For SAT tutoring, I work through standard practice tests with the student and focus on offering clear explanations and powerful test-taking strategies. For college essays, I help the student bring out details in their story that will make a difference. And for term paper writing, I help the student develop skills that will last long after the current assignment is forgotten.

I am willing to travel 20 miles (30 km) from my office to meet with students, but distances over 5 miles may result in extra charges depending on travel time and proximity to my home.
