About Michelle
I'm so excited to be here and provide an insider scoop on college applications, lifestyle, and other necessary preparation for higher education. I also offer K-12 English tutoring, from teaching the language to writing excellent essays.
A little bit about me: I am a First-Generation student, and I graduated Yale with a B.S in Cognitive Science in May 2025. I'm now at Carnegie Mellon pursuring a M.S in AI Systems Management! I'm happy to help out with these two schools specifically as well.
I grew up teaching English and math to my two younger siblings, who are both at the top 10% of their classes. In high school, I was part of a peer tutoring club and volunteered briefly at a local K-12 mathematics center.
I have since tutored 15+ students in SAT, college preparation, math, and writing. I've been accepted by BoldABC, a tutoring company for kids in China, as well as Ringle, a tutoring company for English learners from South Korea. I now also work for MyMentor, which helps international students with college applications.

I practice empathy and active listening in all of my lessons. I will sit and listen to what you need, and offer my best insights prior to launching a game plan together :)
For college preparation, I carefully read all essays outside of lesson time and provide critical, detailed feedback to help you improve your writing as well as the cohesiveness of your overall application. My feedback includes both in-line comments and higher-level notes on structure, voice, and alignment with each school’s prompts. I also share insider perspectives from my experience as a deeply involved Yale student.
I also offer personalized mock interviews tailored to each student and the specific schools they’re applying to. After each session, students receive a written feedback report with strengths, areas for improvement, and concrete next steps.
For other K–12 lessons, I adapt to different learning styles and may use a mix of visuals, real-life examples, games, and storytelling to find what works best for each student.

Perfect! Michelle's approach is a dream for both students and parents. She is extremely organized and tailors her tutoring to the specific needs of her student. This personalisation maximizes results. Our daughter now excels in subjects she initially did not appreciate. Her time management and focus also improved. Michelle's empathy and social skills keep our daughter motivated. The tutoring itself is entertaining and diverse. Michelle has a natural talent for supporting independence. Michelle is a trustworthy teacher because she genuinely wants to see the betterment of her tutees and because she will persistently help and give the student many resources and options to help further their understanding of the topic she is tutoring them on. With every lesson, she is prepared with a google slide and the tips she is going to give me to help me complete as much as possible during the lesson and a checklist for after the lesson with further work that I have to complete before the next lesson. I would recommend Michelle to other Superprof members because she really has helped me with my college application process and we have plans to get my grades up which I know is going to happen. She has really encouraged me to do better and I know that she will be a blessing to others.
I met Michelle through my high school. As a student in a grade lower, I admired Michelle’s academic abilities and achievements.
