About Leslie
My name is Leslie, and I’m a recent Yale graduate with a degree in History and background in Environmental Studies! Throughout college, I honed study skills to perform highly in exams and assessments despite having limited time with a myriad of extracurriculars and responsibilities — and I also had plenty of opportunities to learn from professors and Teaching Assistants about teaching styles that do and don’t help students. I enjoy the reward of sharing knowledge that helps others grasp concepts they struggled with before, and I firmly believe that with the right tools, empathetic support, and extra time, all students can improve their mastery of challenging subjects.

My teaching style emphasizes patience and working with students to develop strategies that help them tackle the specific aspects of subject matters they struggle with the most. Depending on a student’s learning style, I create personalized lesson plans that involve going over problems and assignments they have struggled with in their coursework, demonstrating a guided run through similar questions, and working through customized example problems targeting the students’ particular challenges together. I believe that taking time to build a student’s confidence and ensure they firmly grasp material is essential.
