About Elliott
I'm Elliott, I'm 26 and living in Southampton. I started tutoring while doing my A-levels and have since made a semi-professional career out of it through university and beyond. I attended the University of Southampton and completed an Integrated Masters Degree in Chemistry achieving a 2:1. When I'm not tutoring I work part time for the ambulance service attending 999 calls. For fun I enjoy mechanics and camping! I've just been accepted onto a postgraduate medicine course so starting a new adventure in September. I love teaching and tutoring as I enjoy helping others succeed in their studies and I get to talk about a subject I’m passionate about.

I've been tutoring for the past 10 years across all major syllabuses from year 7 up to A-level. All my students have passed with the majority going up by 2 - 3 grades and going on to achieve levels 7-9. I have tutored extensively in person and since the pandemic have adapted and started to teach mostly online, thus allowing me to reach a greater range of students. I'm confident teaching on a 1:1 basis as well as teaching small groups. Always led by the student and happy to adapt my teaching style to their needs. I can explain any concept in multiple ways so will definitely be able to find a way to help you understand. I try to teach a fundamental understanding of the topic so that the student can apply this knowledge to questions in the exam as well as giving a good basis for further study. I think that it's also important to teach a good exam technique as many marks are lost in exams where the student clearly knows the answer, but hasn't communicated it in a way that gains full credit. I'm happy to set and mark homework / additional questions if this is something you'd like as well. I use a variety of teaching methods including interactive whiteboards, PowerPoints, and activities.

Elliott was an excellent tutor for my daughter. He is patient and was willing to adapt lessons to suit her particular learning style. I felt my daughter developed a good understanding of the material, rather than simply being taught how to pass exams. Would definitely recommend.
My daughter didn’t do too great in her maths GCSE and had to resit it. We decided to look for a tutor and found Elliott. He was easy to book with, explained the whole process and gave very personalised sessions to our daughter.
