Hey! I'm Gillian and I'm an experienced math teacher and world traveler with a well-rounded set of skills. I just moved from NYC to Thailand to fulfill a dream of mine of teaching overseas. I have 9 years of experience and specialize in high school math.

I am an experienced math teacher that taught high school math for the New York City Department of Education for 8 years and has now moved to Thailand to teach math at an international school. I have taught Algebra 1, Geometry, AP Calculus AB, SAT math, and now Grade 1-5 math so I have a deep understanding of what foundational math skills are necessary from the ground up.
I will create engaging math lessons for any grade level or for standardized test prep. You can provide a description of topics, curriculum, standards, or textbook for the lessons to be aligned to. I will create lessons from start to finish that include the launch of the lesson at the start and an exit ticket at the end of each lesson.
I believe that math is best learned by doing & believe in teaching with instructional routines.
Instructional routines are flexible, as the math changes but the format remains the same. Teaching with routines allows the teacher to focus entirely on the parts of the lesson that are most important for student learning.
