About Finlay
I am currently an A-level Further Maths Student entering Year 13. After achieving grade 9's in GCSE Maths and Further Maths, I want to help others through Secondary School Maths and prepare them for their GCSEs. I will be starting an undergraduate degree in Maths next year and wish to ensure that others can have the same opportunities through Maths. I also want to prevent it from being a barrier to success for anyone struggling which is why, in my lessons I deliver, I have a mixed focus of developing key skills and exam practice.

Lessons will be fun and engaging while still focusing on boosting up Maths grades. In an hour long lesson I aim to go through a specific topic in detail.
This would begin with an explanation of the content, using techniques at various difficulties to help with understanding. Then, I move onto some practice to check that the new understanding is there. This builds up to the types of questions that will come up in GCSEs, so students can adapt to the level needed for top exam performance. However, for younger students I can change the focus to ensure that they are gaining vital problem-solving skills to help in later years, instead of focusing on exams that are not close.
I have been tutoring friends for two years, specialising in those aiming to pass their Maths GCSE, however I can teach all abilities at KS3/4.
