About Mavis
I'm a dedicated Year 12 student with a strong academic and musical background, achieving nine grade 9s and 2 grade 8s at GCSE and holding a Grade 5 Music Theory Distinction alongside Grade 8 clarinet playing level. Experience working with younger pupils and beginner musicians has helped develop a clear, patient, and supportive teaching style. Passionate about both academics and music, and committed to helping learners build confidence, improve their skills, and enjoy the process along the way.

Lessons are delivered with a clear and structured approach, using step-by-step explanations and guided practice to build understanding and confidence. Sessions typically run for 45–60 minutes, depending on the subject and the student’s needs. With strong GCSE results and Grade 8-level clarinet performance, I have experience supporting younger pupils and beginner musicians in both academic and musical skills. These lessons are suitable for GCSE Maths and Science students in Years 7–11, as well as beginner to early-intermediate clarinet players of any age. Teaching is paced carefully and adapted to each student to ensure that every session is engaging, supportive, and effective.
