About Melissa
Exposed to the world of dance from a young age. Growing up in a community where hip hop culture thrived, I was introduced to breakdancing, also known as breaking, at an early age. The energetic and rhythmic movements of breakdancing captivated me, and I quickly developed a passion for this dynamic form of expression.
As I delved deeper into the world of hip hop culture, I found myself drawn not only to the physicality of breakdancing but also to the rich history and storytelling embedded within the art form. I immersed herself in the music, fashion, and overall ethos of hip hop, recognizing it as a powerful medium for self-expression and empowerment.
As my expertise in breakdancing grew, our instructor felt a deep-seated desire to share her passion with others. Recognizing the transformative impact that dance can have on individuals, especially within underserved communities, I transitioned into a role as a dance instructor. Drawing from my own experiences and the mentorship I have received, I seek to inspire and empower the next generation of dancers.
