About Sue
Are you concerned about your child's education? Has the school provided relevant, challenging work for them to do? Do you think the predicted grade for GCSE English is going to be enough for your child’s future success?
I am an experienced teacher of English for GCSE Language and Literature.
I have been teaching for almost 20 years, but tutoring privately for over 15 years now. I am successful in improving grades across all levels but specialise in boys taking GCSE English literature and language - getting boys excited about poetry - who'd have thought!
I teach children to have an opinion about what they have read and then prove it. People have different opinions and they can all be right, you just have to show the evidence and say why you think it.

I have a very relaxed and friendly style of teaching, encouraging my students to give their very best because they want to. I encourage students to discover things for themselves and try and generate some passion for their subject. I am aware that my subject is often not the only one they are studying and I don't over load them with homework, but encourage them to do something. I also encourage them not to give up when it gets difficult, and to take risks and make mistakes because no-one ever succeeded by getting everything right.
