About Maris
Hi! I’m a singing tutor with over 6 years of experience and an Advanced Diploma in Singing. I specialize in teaching young children and early teens, helping them discover their voices in a fun and engaging way. My lessons are creative and playful, using games, movement, and storytelling to teach pitch, rhythm, and vocal basics. I love incorporating folk songs, Disney classics, and musicals to make learning enjoyable and relatable. I focus on age-appropriate techniques that nurture healthy vocal habits while building confidence and listening skills. Each session is designed to spark joy and curiosity, encouraging students to explore their unique sound. I believe that music should be exciting, not intimidating, so I create a safe, supportive environment where mistakes become opportunities to learn. Storytelling and movement help students internalize rhythms and melodies naturally. My goal is to make every lesson inspiring, interactive, and memorable. Together, we’ll have fun, develop strong vocal foundations, and fall in love with singing. For The Advanced Teen, I emphasize refining technique while deepening artistic expression. They focus on tone nuance, phrasing, and dynamic control. Song interpretation lessons challenge them to convey emotion with authenticity. Storytelling is elevated through genre-specific projects, from R&B to rock, encouraging originality. Improvisation exercises develop stage presence and musical intuition. Lyric analysis sheets encourage critical engagement with song meaning. Vocal journals track progress, identify strengths, and highlight areas for experimentation. DAWs and melody trainers support composition, layering harmonies, and creative exploration.
