About Natalie
I’m Natalie! I’m a UNC Charlotte graduate with a degree in Construction Management Engineering Technology and 10 years of professional construction and engineering experience. Math has been a big part of both my education and career, and I enjoy helping others make sense of concepts that can initially feel overwhelming. I’m patient, approachable, and believe there’s usually more than one way to explain a problem until it clicks.

My approach to tutoring is patient, practical, and step by step. I want students to understand **why** a problem works, not just memorize the steps needed to get an answer. I encourage students to send me the topics, assignments, or sample problems they are working on ahead of time so I can prepare and make the most of our session.
A typical lesson starts by identifying where the student is getting stuck. We’ll review the underlying concept, work through an example together, and then have the student try similar problems with less guidance as their confidence builds. I’m happy to slow down, explain something a different way, or go back to an earlier concept if that’s where the difficulty actually begins.
What sets me apart is my engineering and construction background. I’m a UNC Charlotte graduate in Construction Management Engineering Technology with 10 years of professional experience, so I’m used to applying math to real-world problems and breaking complicated information into manageable pieces.
I tutor middle school, high school, and college students in subjects including prealgebra, algebra, geometry, and general college-level math. I’m especially well suited for students who benefit from one-on-one explanations, need help filling in gaps from earlier material, or simply need someone to explain math in a different way.
