About Dr M
I have a Ph.D. degree in education and M.Phil. degree in atomic and molecular physics with 17 years’ experience in teaching at different levels: AS-, A-Level, Ontario Science & Technology, and vocational colleges. My teachable subjects are SPH3U, SPH4U, foundational math, calculus and vectors, data management, and general science (Grade 9-10).

I believe that science students should be engaged in activities that make sense to them and aimed at developing their lifelong learning skills (critical thinking skills, metacognitive skills, problem solving skills, etc.). Therefore, teachers should always implement methods that put more emphasis on developing student’s scientific knowledge as well as the process of doing science. Teaching-by-design, guided inquiry, and 5Es, among others, hold great promises to engage students in meaningful learning activities.
