About Willa
I am a passionate Saxophone tutor with 3 years of teaching experience, and I have successfully trained around 150 students across beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels. I teach students of all ages who want to learn saxophone in a clear, supportive, and progressive way.
My tutoring approach follows a foundation-to-performance learning path. I start by building strong basics such as posture, breathing control, tone quality, finger coordination, and rhythm accuracy. Once these fundamentals are in place, students move confidently towards playing songs, improving musical expression, and performing smoothly.
Each lesson is carefully planned based on the student’s level and goals. I combine technical exercises, song practice, listening activities, and simple theory explanations. I also guide students on how to practice efficiently at home so they can see regular improvement.
My unique skill is my ability to guide students from basic sound production to confident playing without pressure. My goal is to help students enjoy learning saxophone while developing strong skills and long-term musical confidence.

My saxophone teaching methodology focuses on adaptability, positivity, and collaboration. I recognise that each student learns differently, and I design lessons to fit their unique learning style—through demonstration, listening, and hands-on practice.
Flexibility is central to my approach. Lessons are adjusted according to student progress, goals, and interests, ensuring growth is steady and learning is enjoyable. Collaboration allows students to experiment with improvisation, share musical ideas, and take an active role in their learning, fostering both confidence and creativity.
I cultivate a positive, supportive environment where achievements are celebrated and challenges become opportunities for improvement. Lessons cover saxophone techniques, musical expression, improvisation, performance preparation, and music theory, providing a complete learning experience.
Additionally, I teach complementary subjects like sight-reading, ear training, ensemble performance, and music theory. My aim is to develop well-rounded, confident, and expressive musicians who are passionate about music.
