About Erin
I recently received my PhD in Astrophysics from Princeton University, where for the past six years I researched exoplanets and Saturn's moon Titan. I have taught college-level courses in Astronomy and Mathematics at Princeton, and I have also been a private tutor on and off again over the last 15 years.

For the past 15 years, I have tutored and taught a variety of subjects in math and science, and I have worked with students of all ages (from young children to senior citizens). I believe in 'showing' rather than 'telling'. My approach is hands-on, and I seek to engage students in any given subject by tying it to what they care about. Science and math are in everything that we do after all! A typical lesson involves an introduction to the material with an example relevant to the topic, discussion with the student to come to a better understanding with practice problems I gently guide them through, and finally a short demonstration from the student on what they've learned that session (such as walking through another problem by themself as they explain out loud the process). I try my best to make each session engaging, fun, and useful through extensive preparation before each session.
